How did you find me?
We use many methods to locate claimants. We have Licensed Private Investigators on staff that use specialty software to access information that may not be publicly available. Often, it can take months of researching to find the proper individual. This is why the government often doesn’t take the time to try to locate people, like you, who may have claim to these funds.
We also may have located relatives or neighbors that assisted us in helping you receive your claim.
How big is my claim? Where are the funds being held?
We provide our clients with exact information regarding the nature of the funds upon execution of the contract. We’re not trying to be secretive, but we still have final research to perform that is very expensive on our part. After receiving the agreements that state you want us to retrieve your money, we will finalize all details with the agency. We don’t charge any type of upfront fee for our services so we need to feel comfortable in making a successful claim, just as you do. This agreement is in place to protect both of us.
How much time do I have to collect my money?
These agencies usually provide a narrow window of opportunity for you to claim your funds. After that timeframe, they will allow the money to “escheat” straight into their own accounts for their use. That’s why we tell our clients that “time is of the essence” to get the claim filed before the funds disappear.
How soon can we get started?
That’s up to you. Today, if possible, as time is very important. We’re ready if you are!
When will I receive my money?
That varies based on the agency holding the funds and the complexity of the case. A typical claim takes around 90 days to process, but it can take 6 months or more. We, as well as our attorney, will do all we can to help expedite your claim and will update you on a regular basis. If you’re in a situation where you can’t wait for the funds and need money now, we may be able to buy your claim and get your money to you much sooner. Ask us about this option.
Is this legal?
Absolutely! If you are the true owner of undistributed/abandoned funds then you have every right to claim them before they are lost to these agencies. It is also completely legal for us to act on your behalf, with your permission, and deal with these agencies directly to insure the correct protocol is being followed which will help with a smooth transaction. You need a professional to make sure all of the paperwork is executed correctly.
Why can’t I just find this money myself?
You can try, but it’s unlikely that you’ll be successful, especially since you may be working against a deadline. We have a licensed private investigator on staff and maintain a comprehensive state of the art database of sources of funds. It takes weeks and months of searching and knowing where to look and who to communicate with. This is our specialty and we’re good at it. Most of the assets we locate aren’t found using the internet, and it’s unlikely that you will ever be notified of their existence. The agency holding your funds may ultimately keep them if you don’t claim them very soon. How much effort do you really think they put into contacting the rightful owners? Do I have to sign your documents?
Yes. It’s the only way we can legally represent you, otherwise the agency will refuse to work with us. Our agreement is easy to read and understand – there is no confusing language, typically a simple, 1-2 page document allowing us to proceed. All documents that you need to sign pertain only to your particular claim and give us no power relating to anything else in your life. We will not have access to your personal, financial information, or the ability to make decisions on your behalf relating to anything other than this claim. All document signings will be done in the presence of a professional notary public licensed in your state. We hire them to come to you, at your convenience. We make every step of the way as simple as possible for our clients.
I’m just not comfortable with this…what can I do?
There are several things you can and should do right now. Keep in mind there is only a short window of time for you to collect these funds. Talk to your family members or an attorney about it and feel free to have them contact us as well. Our agreement is available for you to review before hand, just ask one of our specialists. And remember, we’re a corporation in good standing with the BBB.
Can someone else handle this for me?
Absolutely. You can have a family member or trusted adviser call us and we’ll explain everything to them. You will, however, need to be present for the signing of the documents to submit your claim.
